On 15 and 16 March, 170 attendees gathered for the second edition of the EACT Summit. This high-level summit organised by treasurers for treasurers is aimed at benchmarking best practice, exchanging with peers and shaping the future of treasury. This year the summit's theme was Adapting to a Changing World, with many topics such as Brexit, sustainable finance, fintechs, leadership and people management on the agenda. In this newsletter you will find a taste of the content covered in the summit; a comprehensive report will be available later this spring.

The closing session of the summit focused on diversity in the world of corporate treasurers, with a presentation by Helena Mattingley, Head of the Diversity and Inclusion team at King's College London.

Future of payments: open banking, innovation and competition

With a multitude of changes currently ongoing in the payments landscape, what are the most relevant changes for treasurers and what can they expect in the years to come?  A workshop at the EACT summit discussed the ongoing and expected changes in this area including the entry into force of the revised Payments Services Directive (PSD2), fintech, blockchain and SWIFT GPI.
