On 8th October 2024, the Romanian Treasurers Association (ATR) held its 9th edition of the annual conference at the National Bank of Romania. The event brought together financial experts, treasurers, and industry leaders to discuss critical topics shaping the financial landscape.
The conference featured insightful presentations on the current macroeconomic environment, offering a comprehensive analysis of global and regional economic trends, inflation, labor market, fiscal and political challenges and financial stability. These discussions provided attendees with valuable perspectives on navigating the evolving economic challenges in Romania and beyond.
In addition to the macroeconomic overview, two engaging panels were held. The first one, on Cyber Fraud and Digital Identity, addressed the growing threats in digital age, emphasizing the need of robust security measures to protect financial data and transactions. The experts shared best practices and strategies to combat cyber risks, a topic of increasing importance for the financial sector and not only.
The second panel focused on Future Solutions on Payments, exploring the rapid evolution of payment technologies and the shift towards real-time and contactless transactions. The panelists highlighted how these innovations are transforming the financial services landscape, urging organizations to adapt to the fast-changing payments ecosystem.
At the end of the conference, attendees had the opportunity to share their impressions and insights during a network lunch. This informal setting allowed participants to discuss the day’s presentations, exchange ideas with the presenters and foster connections with the financial community. The collaborative atmosphere highlighted the importance of such events for promoting knowledge sharing and building relationships among treasures and other financial industry professionals.
As a gesture of appreciation, attendees were also offered presents from event sponsors. These gifts were packed in eco-friendly ATR branded bio bags, underscoring the Romanian Treasurers Association’s commitment to environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles. By choosing sustainable materials for the event, ATR reaffirmed its dedication to promoting responsible business practices and aligning with global sustainability efforts.
The Romanian Treasurers Association expresses its deep gratitude to the National Bank of Romania for its continuous support in hosting the annual conferences. ATR acknowledges the Central Bank’s invaluable assistance and professionalism, which played a key role in the event’s success. By fostering an environment of collaboration and expertise, the National bank of Romania remains crucial in promoting and supporting the financial sector, and ATR looks forward to continuing this strong relationship in the future.
